British indie rock band, Doves, have announced their first UK tour since 2019 – including a one-off show in Bristol.
The three-piece band, from Manchester, have enjoyed three UK number 1 albums, including their last-released record, The Universal Want, in 2020.
They announced last week that their sixth studio album, Constellations For The Lonely, will be released on February 14, 2025 – and marked the news by also revealing that the band would play three intimate UK shows later this month.
And now, Doves has announced a full, 15-date UK tour in February and March 2025, which will bring the band to Bristol to play a show at SWX on March 14. It will be Doves’ sixth time visiting the city, having last performed at the Bristol O2 Academy in March 2021.
The tour will go on general sale on Thursday next week (November 21), from 9.30am – although if you pre-order ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ in any format from the official Doves store before 1pm on Monday, November 18, you will receive an exclusive pre-sale access code.
The band have also shared the news that the tour will be missing vocalist Jimi Goodwin, 54, as he continues to recover from mental health struggles that led to Doves cancelling part of their previous tour in 2021.
Announcing their tour via Instagram, the band wrote: “This tour is incredibly special as Jimi is stepping back from live to focus on his wellbeing. Mental health has always been central to Doves, and we fully support him in his decision.
“We (Jez & Andy) will alternate on vocals, and will promise to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience. Love, Jez & Andy & Jimi.”
Doves had previously clarified on Instagram last week, when announcing their three upcoming intimate shows: “Just to be clear me (Jez) will be singing the songs along with Andy on some of the songs, with Jimi very much in spirit.
“I hope this is cool and you understand, as Jimi is still not out of the woods, he’s doing really great but more time is needed.”
