A police drug trafficking investigation in the Niagara Region and the GTA has led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of a substantial amount of drugs and guns.

The OPP and the Niagara Regional Police investigation started in April as a result of drug trafficking activity in the Niagara Region.
Police identified a drug trafficking network that was connected to the GTA, which was responsible for trafficking suspected cocaine and fentanyl as well as other illegal drugs.
On Oc. 23, four search warrants were executed in Brampton.
As a result of this investigation, police seized four handguns, one shotgun, 2.7 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, 1.2 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 330 grams of suspected MDMA, 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 113 suspected oxycodone tablets, 50 suspected hydromorphone tablets, more than 845 rounds of ammunition, a prohibited magazine, and more than $316,000 in Canadian currency.
Michael Navarro, 29, of Brampton, has been charged with 27 offences, including firearm trafficking, possession of prohibited devices and firearms and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, an possession of MDMA.
Kathy Ann Samuels, 32, of Brampton, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl.
