Northern Irish DJ Dean McCullough has described going into the I’m A Celeb jungle as “my worst nightmare”, with just days to go ahead of the new series.
The Newtownabbey born radio presenter admitted most of the viewers of the show will have “never seen my face”, adding that far from the creepy-crawlies and eating challenges, he is most nervous about “gelling with everybody”.
The former Gaydio host and now Radio 1 early breakfast show host will also be joined in the jungle by former boxer Barry McGuigan.
McGuigan, who was born in Clones, Monaghan, is best known for winning the world featherweight title against Eusebio Pedroza in 1985, and represented Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games at Edmonton in 1978 and Ireland in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
He won BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year in 1985.
The pair were speaking ahead of the show’s launch on Sunday, with the official X account sharing the thoughts of the reality show line up ahead of taking part.
Speaking on the clip, McCullough described himself as being “best known for waking up the nation every morning”.
“There will be so many people watching right now that will have never seen my face. So… here it is, surprise,” he joked.
“I wouldn’t say that this is a dream come true. It’s more like my worst nightmare come true.
“I think I am most nervous about gelling with everybody. I think deep down I just really want to be loved and I really want people to see me for me.

“Waking up in the jungle every morning, like it makes my heart burst at the thought of it.
“Ask me that in a couple of weeks when I am like: ‘Oh get me out of here’.”
Meanwhile, McGuigan said his nerves competing in the ring were nothing compared to entering the jungle.
“I won the world title in front of 19 million people but I don’t think I was as concerned as I am going into the jungle that’s for sure,“ he said.
“I’ve stayed away from watching any of the clips of stuff to try and not terrify myself.
“Spiders walking all over you, snakes hissing in your ear.
“In the business of boxing you have to face your fears you put your lie on the line every time you step into the ring. So surely eating kangaroo’s privates couldn’t be that challenging?
“How you deal with different personalities that is going to be a challenge no doubt.”
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday 17th November on ITV1 and ITVX.
