Ipswich picked up their first Premier League win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in north London on Sunday.

The Tractor Boys went into the clash hoping to finally end their wait for a first win of the campaign, having previously come close to beating the likes of Aston Villa and Brentford.

And Ipswich were impressive as they secured all three points courtesy of goals from Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap, with Rodrigo Bentancur’s effort merely a consolation.

GB News now takes a look at four things we learned from the clash.

Speaking before the clash, former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara confidently predicted that his old side would win 4-0.

However, his comments came back to haunt him with Tottenham struggling to break down Ipswich – despite dominating possession.

Ipswich were the more clinical of the two teams, with Szmodics and Delap particularly impressive in the first half.

While it was a day for the Tractor Boys to remember, however, it’ll be a result Ange Postecoglou will want to forget…

Tottenham struggles for consistency go on

There’s no denying that Postecoglou has made Tottenham a far more attactive side since taking charge of the team last year.

But they remain infuriatingly inconsistent and, on current form, don’t look like they’ll be good enough to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham’s emphatic victory over Aston Villa last weekend was meant to be a turning point.

Yet the pressure is mounting on Postecoglou once more, with Spurs’ defeat to Ipswich coming days after they were beaten by Galatasaray in the Europa League.

Solanke still struggling

Big things were expected of Dominic Solanke when he joined Tottenham from Bournemouth back in the summer transfer window.

Yet the striker continues to struggle at the tip of their attack, with his team-mates simply not creating enough chances for him.

Solanke thought he’d got Tottenham back into the game when he scored at the start of the second half – only for VAR to rule it out.

He will be irked by his struggles in front of goal and must do more if he’s to live up to his huge £65million price tag.

McKenna’s win felt like destiny

McKenna actually started his coaching career at Tottenham before leaving for Manchester United to work under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Therefore, it was fitting that Ipswich got their first win of the season at the home of his former side.

McKenna has been unlucky at times this season. Ipswich have often performed well, with nothing to show for it.

Not today, however. Victory will no doubt be sweet for the young boss, who continues to work wonders with his side despite the limited resources at his disposal.

When do they play next?

Ipswich will be hoping to build on their win over Tottenham when they face Manchester United on November 24.

That will be Ruben Amorim’s first match in charge of the Red Devils, having recently agreed to replace Erik ten Hag.

As for Tottenham, they’ll face Manchester City on November 23 – with Pep Guardiola’s side currently on a run of four straight defeats across all competitions.
