England boss Thomas Tuchel has made it clear he values Marcus Rashford after reaching out to the Manchester United star, according to reports.
The 27-year-old was left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championships back in the summer after struggling for consistency at Old Trafford.
Rashford scored just eight goals for United last season, with the Red Devils finishing eighth in the Premier League table as a result.
His problems have continued into the current campaign, with Rashford scoring just four goals from 17 outings across all competitions.

According to The Sun, however, Tuchel is convinced Rashford can be a huge asset for England.
It’s claimed the German recently reached out to the United star and said he can be part of his squad, so long as he keeps his form up.
An insider is quoted as saying: “Tuchel contacted Marcus and his representatives and told them he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad.
“He said he believed a big part of England’s failure to win Euro 2024 was not having Marcus as an option.

“Other teams fear his abilities and Tuchel said he believed without Rashford, England didn’t offer a strong attacking threat on the left and that made them easier to play against as a lot of the ball came down the right.
“Tuchel is a huge admirer of Marcus. It’s a great boost for him and another encouragement to try and get back to his best.”
The report says Rashford is doing extra one-to-one training as he looks to get back to his brilliant best.
The United star could start against Leicester on Sunday as the Red Devils look to maintain their unbeaten record since the recent sacking of Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag was given a new deal back in the summer after guiding United to FA Cup glory.
He was recently dismissed, however, after a wretched start to the new campaign.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently managing United on an interim basis, having previously worked as Ten Hag’s assistant.
But Ruben Amorim will soon be the man charged with the task of waking the fallen giants, with the 39-year-old poised to start at his new club on November 11.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT pundit Alex Crook has opened up on Rashford amid his struggles at United.
And he feels the England star would ‘rather be anywhere else’ than Old Trafford at the current moment in time.
“I think there’s a massive problem when it comes to Marcus Rashford,” he said after United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend.
“It was another game that passed him by.

“I mentioned last week that he couldn’t even bring himself to acknowledge the young fans waiting at the players entrance after the win against Leicester, he still looks like he’d rather be anywhere else than in a Manchester United shirt.”
England’s next two matches will be overseen by Lee Carsley, with the Three Lions set to face Greece and Ireland this coming week.
