Princess Kate has made her first high-profile appearance in a month at the Royal Albert Hall’s Festival of Remembrance on Saturday evening.

The Princess of Wales, who is recovering from cancer treatment, was radiant as she walked alongside Prince William into the Kensington venue.

She wore an elegant black dress adorned with a single poppy, marking a change from her usual tradition of wearing three poppies during Remembrance events.

The royal gathering included King Charles, who became Patron of the Royal British Legion earlier this year, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne.

The Duke of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucestershire and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence are also expected to join the celebrations in the Royal Box.

The event honours those who have served King and Country.

Queen Camilla was notably absent from the evening’s proceedings due to illness.

A Palace spokesperson confirmed the Queen would miss the event earlier today as she continues to recover from a chest infection.

The Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Following doctors’ guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events.

“While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week.”

The Festival of Remembrance, hosted by Adrian Lester, will featur performances by British music icons including Sir Tom Jones, Alexandra Burke and Jack Savoretti.

The evening celebrated Britain’s servicemen and women at the historic Royal Albert Hall.

The Princess of Wales’s appearance at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance is just her fourth major public engagement this year.

Kate stepped back from royal duties at the start of the year and confirmed in March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.

In September, the Princess of Wales announced that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment.
