Danielle, a director at Mums At Work, talks about her favourites
Favourite book?
I am not a book reader, but I would love to be one. Instead, I prefer reading the news and magazines. I studied journalism at university and my passion and interest is still strong. I love keeping up to date on news around the world, reading people’s stories and what is new in the tech world, along with what my favourite celebs are up to. My mum loved books and she has a huge collection. I am going to make it my new year’s resolution to start making my way through them.
Favourite song?
My favourite song at the moment is Marjorie by Taylor Swift. It has been a favourite of mine for a while now and really helped through difficult times. I saw the Eras Tour this summer with my sisters. The tickets were a gift from my mum and step dad. When we heard Marjorie live, it was a deep, emotional and wholesome experience we all had together — with lots of tears. It is a memory I will never forget.

Favourite film?
I am a huge Disney and Marvel fan, and so is my whole family. We grew up watching Disney and had every single DVD, and would have a movie night every week and watch our way through them. Then when we got a bit older, Marvel became a big family tradition where we would go to the cinema on the first week of release every single time together. It is so hard to pick a favourite. We are currently loving Inside Out.
Favourite place?
My favourite place is the beach, in particular Downhill Beach. You can drive onto the beach and watch the waves from your car — usually with a fish and chips. But it is just as amazing to walk on, with beautiful views of the little waterfalls, Mussenden Temple and the water which feels endless as you walk beside it. The sound of the beach is so calming and the fresh sea air is my favourite any time of year.
Favourite meal?
My favourite meal has to be a Nandos chicken wrap. I am a big fan of spice, chicken and fun flavours. I have so many favourite memories in Nandos with my family, boyfriend Ross and my best friend Carrie. There was a time when I was going once a week with Carrie as it became one of her favourites too. I kept saying I would try something different on the menu, but my stomach led me straight back to my all time favourite. When it comes to dessert, my favourite is a crêpe. I make them at home and when the Christmas market comes along, it is the first stall I will go to — then to the hot chocolate.
