Police have seized two vehicles following a major operation in Belfast Docks on Thursday night.

Shortly before 11pm officers from the Organised Crime Unit carried out searches in the West Bank Road area of the docks.

Pictures on social media appear to show officers surrounding a lorry in the area.

In a statement a police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Unit, in conjunction with colleagues from Belfast Harbour Police, carried out searches in the Belfast Harbour area on Thursday, November 7.

“Two vehicles were seized for further examination.”
