One of the few pollsters to predict a Trump win were British polling firm JL Partners.
In a staggering chart, produced by the firm, the graph shows how almost all groups moved towards Trump – with the exception of old white voters.
Founder of JL Partners said: “Two new wellsprings of Republican support seem to have been opened by Trump this year.
“The biggest swings were among younger people, and nonwhite voters. Age and race became more disentangled from party identity than they have been for years, and Trump was the beneficiar.”

The polling data correctly predicted the outcome of Tuesday’s presidential election, showing that nearly all sectors of America voted for the Republicans.
Scarlett Maguire of JL Partners said: “Most pollsters got it wrong – but we didn’t. With our mixed method approach – and our model decisions – we picked up the disenchanted Trump voter, man or woman, black or white, that no one else did. Maguire added that surveys overestimated the importance of abortion and the media misidentified ‘shy Harris women.’
Donald Trump declared he won a “magnificent victory for the American people” as he returns to the White House as 47th President of the United States.
Mr Trump has told his supporters that “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate”.
He said that he would not let his backers down and that it is “time to put the divisions of the past four years behind us”, as he looks likely to win the presidency for the second time.
Mr Trump pledged to “fight” for “every citizen” and promised the “golden age of America”.
He said: “Every single day I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body.
“I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve, and that you deserve.”
He added: “This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”
