A Plymouth fire safety firm has added a Dorset company to its portfolio as it continues to expand across the UK. Ventro has acquired Dorset Fire Protection, in Wimborne, for an undisclosed sum.
The Plymouth company completed the deal without the need for extra borrowed capital. It said it was “committed” to a “smooth transition” for staff and customers of Dorset Fire Protection following the transaction.
Harvey Melvin, group chief executive of Ventro Group, said: “We are thrilled about this acquisition, as it allows us to build on our current momentum and continue our exciting journey of growth.
“Our commitment to delivering outstanding service while upholding our core values remains unwavering. The addition of Dorset Fire Protection strengthens our ability to offer trusted and comprehensive fire compliance and security solutions all across the UK.”
Ventro was formed by brothers Harvey and Ross Melvin in 2013 and moved to new offices in Plymouth in 2021. The company operates nationally in thousands of properties, including specifically with registered providers of social housing. In 2020, the business opened an additional office in the Midlands, which has become a key hub for client relations and operational delivery.
Ventro said its latest deal would preserve the legacy and expertise of Dorset Fire Protection but also “empower” the Wimborne firm with the resources and support needed for future growth.
Eddie Besley, chief operating officer of Ventro Group, added: “This is a well-timed next step in the journeys of both Ventro and DFP, and we’re really excited to join forces with an excellent team. We look forward to supporting the client base with the same methodologies and with the added backing of the Ventro Group.
“This acquisition underscores Ventro’s ongoing dedication to innovation and excellence, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the fire safety and security industry, delivering world class compliance services.”
