The Ulster Senior Club Football Quarter-Final between Erne Gaels and Scotstown has been postponed after the death of former Gaels star Mark Lyons, the brother of club captain Ryan.
In a statement, the Fermanagh club confirmed that Lyons passed away in midweek and, as a result, their match against the Monaghan champions would be pushed back by a week.
The game, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, has been rescheduled for Saturday November 16 at Brewster Park in Enniskillen.
“It’s with great sadness that we learnt of the unexpected passing of one of our past players Mark Lyons,” said Gaels’ statement.
“A bittersweet few days for our club with Mark’s younger brother Ryan lifting the New York Cup last Saturday evening for us now to be heartbroken for the Lyons family on the passing of Mark.”
This weekend’s three other Quarter-Finals will take place as scheduled.
