After losing to Molde and Shamrock Rovers in their opening two games, Tiernan Lynch’s side will be eager to finally get off the mark when they kick-off at 8pm.

Added time

There will be two minutes added on at the end of the first half.

A couple of opportunities for St. Gallen are stopped by crucial blocks from Larne players, firstly Kevin Csoboth denied by the brave Sam Todd and Akolo’s effort turned aside by Cian Bolger.

Both are appealed for handballs by the visitors, and it looks like they might have a half-case in the Bolger incident, but the referee waves play-on.

Larne switch off from a quick free-kick by St. Gallen in their own half and the Swiss side charge forward at pace down the right wing through Hugo Vandermersch. The French wing-back exchanges passes with Willem Geubbels but is taken out off the ball by Ives and that will be a booking for the left-back.

Credit where it’s due, this is an absolutely stunning finish from St. Gallen to equalise and, in reality, they do deserve it because they have been the better team for most of this game.

It’s an absolutely glorious pass from Chima Okoroji that unlocks the Larne defence, his arrow-perfect ball over Sam Todd’s head falling perfectly onto the right boot of captain Lukas Gortler, who beats the offside trap perfectly, and he lasers the volley into the far corner past Rohan Ferguson.

Magnificent goal, we are level at Windsor Park.

Larne haven’t done much since they scored but they have a half-look at goal as a free-kick hung into the box is nodded back to the six-yard box by Cian Bolger and Andy Ryan is able to direct a header on target, but it’s an easy save for Lawrence Ati-Zigi down to his right.

Ferguson warning

In fairness, I think this is justified, Rohan Ferguson is taking an age to take every goal kick and both the crowd and St. Gallen coaching staff are letting the officials know at every opportunity. He’s finally warned by the referee to speed things up a bit.

St. Gallen are causing quite a few issues from corners as another one struggles to be cleared by the Larne defence and this time Akolo has a wild swipe at it that clears the crossbar. But the visitors are getting a fair amount of purchase from set pieces.

This would have been some goal from the Serb if he had picked the corner instead of rifling straight at Rohan Ferguson, a corner headed to the edge of the box and right onto the boot of the holding midfielder for the volley – it’s well struck but Ferguson doesn’t have to move a muscle to clutch it gratefully to his chest.

Controversial decision

Huge call from the referee as Andy Ryan outmuscles Abdoulaye Diaby and looks to have a clean run towards goal only to be brought down by the defender, but there isn’t even a free-kick given by the referee who instead waves play on.

Certainly looked like Ryan was fouled and, if so, there was definitely an argument there for a red card as the last man. Not a great start for Diaby.

Larne survive a lengthy VAR check at one end and then, with their first attack at the other, take the lead themselves!

It’s Jordan McEneff who shows superb strength to win the 50/50 battle with Chima Okoroji and then hold off the defender to advance towards the edge of the box, he puts the cross in aiming for Andy Ryan but it’s Abdoulaye Diaby who slides in to try and prevent the striker from getting it, only to inadvertenedly turn it into his own net!

Dream start for the Inver Reds!

OFFSIDE!

St. Gallen have the ball in the back of the net but the assistant referee’s flag goes up on the far side!

It was a superb ball from the back by Chima Okoroji that sends Kevin Csoboth through into the box and he places the finish perfectly into the bottom corner beyond Rohan Ferguson, but the assistant waves it off on the far side!

St. Gallen making noise

The teams have just headed back into the dressing rooms and the St. Gallen fans are the ones that can be heard, chanting in force as their boys in green make their way across the pitch.

Some comical boos as the PA announcer cheers out Larne.
