Donald Trump’s record in politics caused a serious stir in the GB News studio during coverage of the US election as two guests came to verbal blows.
Comedian Lewis Schaffer clashed with political commentator Martyn Whitlock as the latter claimed Trump has “no moral compass”.
He also claimed Trump lacks substance or ideology and is happy to sway where the wind blows as part of a quest to gain power.
But Schaffer disagreed, saying Trump has always stuck to the same message, even before his foray into politics.

“He’s a politician. People hate Donald Trump because he represents the opposite of what he stands for. The Democrats are team world, they’re globalists and they don’t love America first. That is what makes an American an American, when they love America first.
“That’s what they don’t like about Donald Trump.”
Whittock hit back: “You talk about checks and balances but you trash the whole concept of due process.
“We have somebody who lies and says whatever he wants to do. He is self-serving and has no ideology.
“He will move from one ideology to the other in order to be successful. His ideology is himself.”
Schaffer argued “people know” what Trump stands for as he has stood for office on several occasions and was a household name in America even before that.
“People know him and they are willing to accept his exaggerations. I don’t see lies”, he said.
“I was not a Trump supporter until recently, but he is a great man. The world should be honoured to have him as our leader.”
Whittock then said he feels Trump “has no moral compass”, which prompted a fiery retort by Schaffer.
“I know you do, because you’re left-wing, and left-wing people think they’re better than everybody else.”
