Queen Mary has reunited with King Frederik after spending time apart, one year after the ‘affair scandal’.
The Queen of Denmark, 52, joined her husband on Tuesday evening at Vega in Copenhagen for the 20th anniversary celebration of The Crown Prince Couple Awards.
This is Queen Mary’s first public appearance with King Frederick since the mother of four returned to Denmark, following a brief holiday to her home country, Australia, alongside her daughter Josephine.
Queen Mary’s trip to Australia landed on the year anniversary of her husband’s “affair scandal” that rocked the Danish monarchy.

In her last public appearance, Queen Mary and Princess Josephine, 13, attended the Hubertus Hunt at Eremitage Castle on Sunday.
King Frederik, 56, and the couple’s three other children, Prince Christian, 19, Princess Isabella, 17, and Prince Vincent, 13, were absent from Sunday’s event.
In 2023, the Spanish magazine Lecturas published photographs of Frederik in Madrid with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.
Despite initially staying silent on the rumours, the Danish Royal Family later released a short statement to the Danish publication B.T.
They said they “do not comment on rumours or insinuations”.
King Frederik and Queen Mary both personally stayed silent about the allegations.
After the pictures in the Spanish magazine were published, Casanova claimed the “malicious” rumours of an “affair” were false.
The Mexican socialite posted a legal letter on Instagram that threatened legal action against the magazine.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Amber Petty, Mary’s bridesmaid from her 2004 wedding, refused to comment or “go anywhere near” the scandal, she told The Mail.
A communications expert told B.T. that the Danish Royal Family were not concerned by the rumours.
According to the publication, the royals considered the allegations a “breeze” as opposed to a storm.
In January 2024, Mary and Frederik were photographed kissing on the balcony of Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, after a declaration on the accession to the throne by the Danish Prime Minister.
