Martin Property Group was awarded Property Deal of the Year, sponsored by Wilson Nesbitt, for the redevelopment and sale of Danesfort, an office building in south Belfast.
With 40 years’ experience in real estate investment and development, Martin Property Group is active across the UK and Ireland.
The company transformed Danesfort into a modern, sustainable office space now fully leased to NIE on a 15-year term and to Kingsbridge on a 20-year term.
Located in the the Stranmillis and Malone area, Danesfort now provides 78,873 square feet of air-conditioned office space, along with over 350 parking spaces on a prime 2.8-acre site.
The judges said: “We were particularly impressed by the transformation of this landmark 1960s office building, including the emphasis placed on energy efficiency and sustainability during the redevelopment.
“This led to the successful negotiation of lease investments to two very strong tenants and the sale of the investment property to a private investor in early 2024.”
Gary Martin, group director at Martin Property Group, said that the company was “delighted”, to pick up the accolade.
“There has been a lot of interesting deals made this year, so it is fantastic to be recognised for our hard work.”
The group director credited his team for the achievement, emphasising that teamwork was essential to the project’s success.
He said, “We had an outstanding team working on the redevelopment of Danesfort House. It was a true team effort, and that collaboration made it possible to successfully deliver a complex yet highly rewarding project.”
Martin Property Group is based in Derry and is associated with a range of projects in Belfast, including the purchase of the Scottish Mutual Building, which is to be turned into a hotel.
