TORONTO – Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews will miss Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins with an upper-body injury.

The Toronto centre, who’s listed as day-to-day, has five goals and 11 points in 13 contests this season.

Matthews picked up an assist and played more than 22 minutes in Sunday’s 2-1 overtime road loss to the Minnesota Wild.

The three-time Maurice (Rocket) Richard Trophy winner led the NHL with 69 goals in 2023-24 — the most by a player in more than three decades.

Matthews succeeded John Tavares as Toronto’s captain in August.

The Leafs play two more home games this week — Friday against the Detroit Red Wings and Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens.
