Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are set to face off in a controversial boxing match next week at AT&T Stadium in Texas and Tyron Woodley fears the younger fighter could be set for a world of pain.
There have been questions about the fairness of pitting the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion against the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
Concerns have been raised about Tyson’s age and health, with some criticising the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations for sanctioning the clash as a professional contest.
The fight has divided opinion, with supporters and critics weighing in on the unexpected matchup.
Former UFC champion Woodley has weighed in on the matchup and feels it would never have been signed off a few decades ago.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, he said: “It’s a very even fight, to be honest. It’s even because of the age of Mike Tyson. He’s completely obviously out of his prime.

“When in his prime, most of his fights were almost attempted murder. So literally, Jake wouldn’t have stood a chance.
“Nobody would even commission to sanction a fight between him and Mike Tyson (in Tyson’s prime)”.
The 42-year-old, who previously fought Paul twice, believes the YouTuber is in a “win-win situation” regardless of the outcome.
Paul has responded to criticism surrounding the fight, previously stating: “A lot of people are wondering ‘Jake, why are you doing this? Even if you beat him, they’re going to say he’s old’. But to me, Mike Tyson wanted to fight me.”
Paul views the matchup as an honour, adding: “That is an honour. He’s one of the most famous boxers in the world to ever do it. To step in there with someone of his nature is an honour and a dream come true.”
The young American sees the bout as “a spectacle” despite the controversy.
The upcoming bout marks a significant return for Tyson, who hasn’t fought professionally since his 2005 loss to Kevin McBride.
However, he did participate in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
Paul, on the other hand, enters the ring fresh off a knockout victory over former UFC welterweight contender Mike Perry in July.
