The Property Awards recognises not just the culmination of careers and projects, but people who are at the start of their journey in the industry.
One such winner is George Jolliffe, an associate director Lisney named 2024’s Young Agent of the year.
Mr Joliffe says: “I joined Lisney in June 2023 having moved from London with my wife, who is Northern Irish, and newborn daughter.
“My primary focus is on the living sectors and I am currently advising a wide range of clients on development/investment opportunities across Northern Ireland and the wider UK.”
He is new in town, but has joined a well-known name in property which has almost a century of experience on the island of Ireland.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Jolliffe said he felt “very good” to win a “prestigious award”.
“It’s nice to be nominated, let alone win.”
He’s adapted well to his new working life in Northern Ireland. “It’s been very good. I’ve been very lucky with my team. They’ve welcomed me very well and got me involved in some good stuff.
“There’s been plenty going on. It’s been tough, tough markets, but there’s been good opportunities.”
Reflecting on how the industry has changed in the decade-plus since he started working in it, he says: “Things like institutional capital wasn’t around back when I started.
“It was not more simple but more about local developers looking to develop and sell schemes.
“I work very much in the residential space. There’s been a lot more institutional capital coming in, forward-funding for purchasing.
“And the student market has gone nuts, so that’s probably been the biggest change for me.”
Already making an impact after a short time here, Mr Jolliffe said he was looking forward to continuing his work at Lisney and “if we can be involved in some of the projects that we have been, going forward, then happy days”.
