For those yearning for some winter warmth, Agadir in Morocco is a hidden treasure just a short journey from the UK, boasting 24C temperatures and stunning white sand beaches.
A mere four-hour flight separates British holidaymakers from the Moroccan city of Agadir, making it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway.
Beach enthusiasts will find their slice of paradise at Plage d’Agadir, the city’s most acclaimed beach. Spanning six kilometres, this sandy haven is lined with eateries and boutiques.
Visitors have praised its expansive golden sands and array of activities.
“A wide sandy city beach that is clearly loved by locals and tourists alike,” one traveller shared on TripAdvisor, reports the Mirror.
“There is plenty of space for children to play in the sand and the sea is perfect for paddling in medium size waves. If you go further out you can swim. Behind the beach is the wide pedestrianised promenade, which makes for a lovely walk. Overall this is one of the best city beaches I’ve visited.”
In addition to beach life, tourists can explore the local souk to hunt for keepsakes or indulge in fresh regional produce.
Thanks to its seaside setting, Agadir offers exquisite seafood, alongside traditional Moroccan fare such as tagines and couscous.
Wildlife enthusiasts should not miss Crocoparc, Agadir’s top-rated attraction on TripAdvisor, where over 300 crocodiles reside.
One visitor was clearly impressed, sharing their thoughts: “An awesome trip. The park is beautiful and clean. The crocs have plenty of space to swim and bask.”
