Pearson International Airport is hoping its own version of the City of Toronto’s summer and winter culinary events will take off this month.
The busy travel hub says its premium dining Pearsonlicious event during the month of November, inspired by the popular Winterlicious and Summerlicious festivals in the city, is designed to elevate the airport experience.
For the month, travellers going through Terminals 1 and 3 will have the option of indulging in specially curated three-course prix fixe menus at 18 restaurants. The meals are priced between $30 and $40.
Participating restaurants include Acer, Apropos, Beerhive, Boccone, Caplansky’s, Corso, Fetta, Fionn MacCool’s, Heirloom Bakery Cafe, LEE Kitchen, Marathi, Mill St. Brewery, Nobel Burger Bar, Tap & Pour, The Hearth, Twist, Urban Crave, and Vinifera.
“Whether you’re catching a flight or making a connection, Pearsonlicious offers passengers the chance to enjoy exclusive, chef-inspired meals, redefining airport dining,” Khalil Lamrabet, Toronto Pearson’s chief commercial officer, said in a news release. “This initiative is part of our vision to put the joy back into travel and to make the airport a memorable destination.”
The Winterlicious and Summerlicious events were created by the city in 2003 to promote eateries and generate economic activity for the restaurant industry during slower times of business.
The city says more than eight million meals have been served during the festival, which has generated more than $353 million in economic activity for the industry.
