A new supermarket has announced that it will be opening in approximately two weeks’ time just outside Bristol. Lidl have unveiled billboards advertising that the new store, to be located at Berwick Green, will open on November 14.
The German budget supermarket chain had announced earlier this week that it was committed to opening 10 new stores across the UK before Christmas. Within those 10 stores was the Berwick Green store.
Lidl already has many stores spread across Bristol, and the wider region but currently does not have a location near Cribbs Causeway. That will be set to change in two weeks time when the store opens in the new housing development.
Earlier this year, Lidl responded to customer complaints that there was a trolley shortage in its Lawrence Weston store. Lidl said: “We continue to have small trolleys in place for customers at our stores and apologise if these were in use at the particular time of the customer’s visit.”
In 2018, developers secured approval by Bristol City Council to build the 1,000 home estate on fields between Henbury and Cribbs Causeway. It is thought that a care home, primary school and community centre will be built within the community.
