This is why you don’t mess around with fireworks, kids.

Well, that lesson honestly should apply to everyone, but it clearly wasn’t heeded by one Los Angeles Dodgers fan on Wednesday night.

After watching his team defeat the New York Yankees in Game 5 of the World Series to capture the MLB championship, one Dodgers supporter took to the streets in celebration – and it would end very poorly for him.

In a shocking video that has gone viral on social media, a man wearing a Dodgers jersey with the No. 22 and the name ‘King’ on the back, suffers severe injuries to his hand after an incident involving fireworks.

WARNING: Graphic content

The man, who reportedly is 25 years old, can be seen in the video carrying a lit firework onto a downtown L.A. crosswalk.

But before he can place the firework on the ground, it explodes, sending sparks flying and engulfing him in smoke as other onlookers scatter down the street.

The friend who is filming the accident screams “Oh, f***!” as the victim stumbles towards a storefront on the corner of street, dripping blood.

As the man gets closer to the person filming, it becomes clear that both of his hands are covered with blood. It also appears that he is missing fingers and hunks of flesh from his left hand.

“Oh, his hand!” the cameraman says to another friend called Blue, who responds “I know, oh my goodness, bro.”

With the man in apparent shock after the explosion, several bystanders came to the man’s aid and called the authorities.

The Los Angeles Fire Department told TMZ that the fan was conscious and alert but suffered bilateral hand wounds which were described as “debilitating.”

This was not the only incident in Los Angeles following the Dodgers championship win.

According to reports, rowdy crowds of fans took to streets causing havoc on Wednesday night. Videos showed crowds setting a city bus on fire, breaking into stores and setting off fireworks. A dozen arrests were reported by police on Thursday.

Video also showed people throwing objects at police  as sirens blared and officers told them to leave the area.

Other video showed revellers standing atop a bus waving a Dodgers banner and people running from a boarded-up Nike store with armfuls of sneakers before throwing the merchandise into cars parked outside.
