A Line of Duty cast reunion has sparked the rumour mill yet again about the prospect of another series of the hit police drama series.
In a clip posted to Instagram by series star Martin Compston, who played DI Steve Arnott in the drama, he can be seen alongside his former co-stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar on a rickshaw ride around London.
All three of them are heard in the clip singing along to “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor and “Shackles (Praise You)” by Mary Mary which are played in the background.
“We’re back,” Compston states in the short clip. Then McClure who played DI Kate Fleming and Dunbar who played Ted Hastings explained why they were all using the mode of transport.
“Hi everyone, we just needed a ride to a restaurant,” said McClure, with Dunbar adding he was just “trying to keep it together” so these “two young people can get home tonight”.
The post was captioned “AC12 oot and aboot,”, in a nod to the name of their fictional anti-corruption police division depicted in the series.

Fans replying to the post were quick to wonder whether it meant there was news on the horizon about a new series.
One fan replied to the post saying: “Hope to see you all back on our screens as AC-12 one day.”
Another added: “We need another series guys.”
In another post, a user wrote: “Is it happening!!?? It’s happening.”
Created by Jed Mercurio, Line of Duty — which was filmed in Belfast — last aired May 2021 with Ted Hastings and his team uncovering the identity of the ‘Fourth Man’ and derailing corruption from within the force.
Following its conclusion, the stars have often been pictured together and back in Belfast, leading to speculation they aren’t quite ready to hang up their police caps forever.
Earlier this year, Dunbar told The Times the cast “want to come back”.
“We all want it to come back. It’s apposite that today should be their birthdays because I really don’t want them getting any older,” he said.
“I don’t want to get any older either because we don’t want to be coming back when we’re in a wheelchair. Ted Hastings with a Zimmer frame.”
Compston meanwhile has said Jed Mercurio would never write a new season “for the sake of writing it” and said there were no current plans to bring it back.
Reported by The Sun, Compston said: “Genuinely, there’s no plans at all.”
“We all love each other more than just colleagues now, they’re some of my dearest friends, and we’d all love to work together at some point, but there’s no plans.”
