A New York-inspired pizza shop is due to open in Bristol next week. GiGi’s Pizza Shop will serve 12″ and 18″ pizzas, either whole or by the slice, from its shop in Old Market.
It’s the newest venture by Grano Kitchen owners Rapha and Alberto. Grano and GiGi’s will sit next door to one another – Grano at 48/49 Old Market Street, and GiGi’s at number 47.
In a post to Instagram on Tuesday (October 29), the pair wrote: “Big news! Me (Alberto) and @raphaghetti are opening a New York inspired pizza shop next door! It’ll be called GiGi’s Pizza Shop and we will open the doors next Friday, November 8 – pop by to say hi.
“We are at 47 Old Market Street – give it a follow to help us with a good start. Grano will keep running as usual.”
Taking to the comments section, customers and locals were quick to share their excitement. One wrote: “OMG, yay! I wondered what you were up to when I saw Alberto popping in next door.”
A second said: “This sounds brilliant. Can’t wait!” While others were especially excited by the news the duo would be offering pizza by the slice, calling it “amazing”, and adding: “This is going to be big”.
Grano Kitchen offers “proper Italian food“, recently showcasing popular items on the menu – including the likes of a chicken Milanese wrap, lasagne, ravioli, carbonara, and coffee braised ox cheek, among others.
Alongside pizza, Rapha and Alberto’s new venture will also sell ‘local beer’ and ‘delicious wine’. The pair have already dubbed their pizza as being “the best damn slices in town”, adding: “We can’t wait to see you down here”.
