Liverpool manager Arne Slot found himself in hot water during the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Dutch boss was shown a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor in the second half of the match, leaving spectators puzzled about the reason for his booking.

However, Slot has since revealed that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding with the fourth official.

The booking came as a result of a comment made by Slot, which he claims was directed at his own player but was mistakenly interpreted as criticism of the match officials.

In his post-match press conference, Slot explained the situation: “They (Arsenal) always fell down when they had ball possession.

“I said to Ibou (Konate): ‘This is a f***ing joke’, but the fourth official thought I was talking to him. I got a yellow for that!”
