Bukayo Saka has etched his name in Arsenal’s history books, becoming the youngest player to score 50 Premier League goals for the club.
The 23-year-old achieved this milestone during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka’s record-breaking goal came just nine minutes into the match. The Hale End graduate latched onto a brilliant long pass from Ben White, skilfully turned Andy Robertson, and unleashed a thunderous finish at Caoimhin Kelleher’s near post.
At 23 years and 52 days old, Saka surpassed the previous record held by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Nevertheless, Saka revealed the team’s disappointment following the draw.
“We’re disappointed we couldn’t get the three points,” he said, adding that Arsenal “weren’t at our best” during the match.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Liverpool twice coming from behind to equalise. After Saka’s opener, Virgil van Dijk headed in from a corner to level the score.
Arsenal regained the lead through Gabriel Martinelli, who nodded in from a Declan Rice free-kick. However, Mohamed Salah swept in Liverpool’s second equaliser later in the game.
The Gunners faced injury concerns as Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber were both forced off during the match. This led to a makeshift Arsenal backline in the closing stages.

A late winner for Arsenal, scored by substitute Gabriel Jesus, was disallowed.
The draw has impacted Arsenal’s position in the Premier League standings. The Gunners now sit third in the table, behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
Manchester City currently lead the league, one point clear of Liverpool in second place.

Arsenal have fallen five points behind the leaders and are four points adrift of Liverpool.
The result means Arsenal have now gone unbeaten in their last five Premier League games against Liverpool.
However, the gap to the top two teams presents a significant challenge for Mikel Arteta’s side as they aim to stay in the title race.
