Tyson Fury, the heavyweight boxing champion, has revealed he has £200 million in his bank account and admitted that money is his sole motivation for continuing to fight.

The Gypsy King made these candid remarks ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for 21 December.

Fury’s frank admission comes as he prepares to avenge the only defeat of his professional career.

The bout will see him attempt to reclaim the undisputed heavyweight title from Usyk, who secured a split decision victory in their previous encounter.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Fury was unequivocal about his motivations. He stated, “Andy Lee never had £200million in his bank to make him happy, did he?

“So what is my goal, and what is my target? It’s not a belt. It’s not a legacy. It’s not a boxing fight. It’s to make as much money as possible.”

The boxer continued, “To do that, I’ve got to have as many fights as I can until the wheels fall off and I’m 50 years old, crippled with a stick, walking down the street. That’s how I’ll be.”

Fury’s blunt honesty sets him apart in the world of professional boxing.

Fury’s candid approach extends to his views on his past fights.

He revealed, “I’ve had 40 professional fights, and I was in every single one of them for the money. If I wasn’t getting paid, I wouldn’t have done any of them.”

The boxer believes he’s unique in his honesty about financial motivations. He added, “I do it for the dough, but I’m the only one that will tell the truth.”

Fury’s focus on monetary gain is clear. He stated, “I’m thinking, ‘How much dough can I get at any given moment in my career?’ If you want to fight, the only question I say is, ‘How much?'”

The rematch between Fury and Usyk is set for 21 December. Usyk’s previous victory saw him crowned as the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Despite his loss, Fury remains optimistic about the upcoming bout.
