Authorities in York Region hope to reunite victims of break-and-enters with jewelry and other stolen property after six people were arrested last week.

York Regional Police said three people from Vaughan and three from Toronto were taken into custody following the investigation, dubbed Project Black and Blue.

Police allege four people committed a break-and-enter in the area of Pine Valley Dr. and Hwy. 7, in Vaughan, just before 10 a.m. on Oct. 18.

A short time later, the same group allegedly committed a second break-and-enter in the area of Langstaff Rd. and Valeria Blvd.

Cops said, at approximately 12:40 p.m., a group of suspects was located by officers with the Integrated Property Crime Task Force and they were arrested.

After obtaining five search warrants, officers took two additional suspects into custody, police said.

Among the items of clothing, jewelry and valuables seized were watches, rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, purses, handbags and designer sunglasses.

Due to the amount of recovered property, investigators believe there are additional victims who have not yet contacted police and are seeking to identify them so the stolen items can be returned, cops said.

Authorities have created an online photo gallery of the stolen goods that have not yet been claimed.

Investigators are asking anyone who was a victim of a residential break-and-enter between May and October to review the photos and contact police if any of the items are theirs. Police said there will be a process to verify ownership before any property is returned.
