A new wellness centre and coffee shop is a step closer to opening on the outskirts of Bristol. A Lyfe Health wellness centre is one of two facilities which will move into the site of the former Lloyds bank on Badminton Road in Downend.

The building, on the corner of Badminton Road and Cleeve Road, has been vacant since 2020. But now the new wellness centre is set to open after adverts were approved by South Gloucestershire Council.

The wellness centre will offer physiotherapy, Pilates, MRI scans, massages and shockwave therapies according to signage that was approved by the council. The side of the building, on Cleeve Road, will be mostly grey but will feature a slanted orange panel.

The wellness centre will be joined by a coffee shop and kitchen which will be situated adjacent on Badminton Road. The GoodLyfe coffee shop will join the various coffee shops and cafes that populate Downend.

In a decision which approved the adverts on the building, the council said that advertisements will not be illuminated from 10pm to 8am. The delegated report on the decision notes that there was one neighbouring objection to the adverts.

It is currently unknown when the wellness centre and coffee shop with kitchen will open in Downend. Work on the building is currently ongoing.
