A new branch of Krispy Kreme is set to open next week within the city centre. The doughnut brand will open its fourth Bristol store branch at 27 College Green on Tuesday, October 29.

The new branch, the first Krispy Kreme store to be located outside a shopping centre or retail park in Bristol, will have approximately 20 seats and include toilets and a storage area. It will join existing branches in Cribbs Causeway, Cabot Circus and Avonmeads Retail Park, as well as being located within popular supermarkets.

Green fascia tiles and the Krispy Kreme brand name can be seen on the shopfront which overlooks College Green. The branch will occupy the ground floor only whilst student accommodation will be above.

Mobile till units will be used on site to accommodate wheelchair users, a hearing loop will be installed at the till area and that card machines will be removable and accessible. Colour schemes and finishes across the menu, floors and counters will “strongly contrast” with each other.

Krispy Kreme told Bristol Live that the new branch will open on Tuesday, following works to refit the vacant unit. The existing sets of entrance doors were retained as part of the planning application.

An illuminated sign, which will be external to the store, will be fixed onto the fascia, according to plans which are pending consideration by Bristol City Council. The College Green area, alongside the adjacent Park Street, has become a hot spot for cafes, coffee shops and tasting experiences.

A planning application for a new shop front was submitted in August, with further planning documents filed in September, which is still pending consideration. A temporary shop front was installed as part of planning permission which was already granted.
