Investigators need help identifying a man wanted for an assault in the city’s west end on Wednesday.

Toronto Police say officers responded to a call in the area of Lansdowne Ave. and Bloor St. W. around 3:30 p.m. after it was reported a man had asked a youth to take a photo of them and then directed the victim to a backyard.

The victim became uncomfortable and attempted to leave but was assaulted by the man, police alleged in a statement released Friday, explaining the youth suffered minor injuries but managed to run away.

Investigators have released images of a suspect in the hopes that someone recognizes him and comes forward.

The suspect is described as 25-30 years old, 5-foot-10, with a thin build, short black hair and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black jacket and dark-coloured sweat pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-1100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
