Disney+ has unveiled the trailer for the original FX series ‘Say Nothing’, based on the best-selling Troubles biography.

It will premiere with all nine episodes on Thursday, November 14 exclusively on Disney+ in the UK.

The series is based on the best-selling book by Patrick Radden Keefe, which recently ranked #19 on the New York Times’ 100 Best Books of the 21st Century.

Say Nothing is a gripping story of murder and memory in Northern Ireland during The Troubles.

The book examines the Troubles through the lens of the abduction and murder of mother-of-10 Jean McConville in Belfast in 1972.

Spanning four decades, the series opens with the shocking IRA abduction of Ms McConville.

She became one of the Disappeared – victims who were secretly killed and buried by the IRA. Ms McConville’s remains were not discovered until 2003 at a beach in Co Louth.

Telling the story of various IRA members, Say Nothing explores the extremes some people will go to in the name of their beliefs, the way a deeply divided society can suddenly tip over into armed conflict, the long shadow of radical violence for all affected, and the emotional and psychological costs of a code of silence.

The series stars Lola Petticrew as Dolours Price and Hazel Doupe as Marian Price – two sisters who both joined the IRA during the Troubles.

Anthony Boyle stars as Brendan Hughes, who was the former Officer Commanding of the Belfast Brigade of the Provisional IRA.

Josh Finan also portrays former Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams, while Maxine Peake stars as an older Dolours Prices.

Say Nothing is executive produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force, creator Joshua Zetumer, Patrick Radden Keefe, Edward McDonnell, Monica Levinson and Northern Ireland native Michael Lennox. The series is produced by FX Productions.
