The hunt is on for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a Vaughan park recently.

York Regional Police say the incident allegedly occurred northwest of Bathurst St. and Major Mackenzie Dr., around 1 p.m. on Oct. 12.

A woman was sitting on a park bench in the area of Via Romano Blvd. and Strong Ave. when a man “sat next to her and touched her for a sexual purpose,” Const. James Dickson said Wednesday.

He said the man then fled on foot southbound towards the park trail.

Investigators have now released an image of a suspect, who is described as an older, possibly Middle Eastern, with a thin build, short black hair and a partial beard.

The man was wearing a long grey shirt, dark pants, a dark hat, and sunglasses.

Investigators need help identifying this man, who is suspected of sexually assaulting a woman sitting on a Vaughan park bench on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024.
