Whitehall Garden Centre’s 2024 Christmas shops at Whitchurch in Bristol and Lacock in Wiltshire are now open. Known for being one of the ‘best’ Christmas shops and displays in the city, the centre in Whitchurch sells everything from baubles and decorations, to trees, lights and festive pet accessories.

The shop display is huge, with walls spanning 8ft of just floor to ceiling decorations in places, and preparations beginning way back in the summer months each year. Similarly to 2023, while other Whitehall Garden Centre locations will be hosting Christmas events, including things like Christmas wreath making, story time with Santa, and breakfast with Santa events, it seems the Whitchurch branch will be focusing on their Christmas shop.

The Whitehall Garden Centres official Instagram page posted a small sneak peek at boxes of Christmas merchandise back on September 11, writing: “Is it that time of year already? Our Christmas Preview evening at Lacock and Whitchurch is in just a few weeks time.. Follow our page to see our journey to building one of the biggest Christmas shops in the UK.”

Taking to the comments section at the time, fans were quick to share their excitement, with one writing: “So excited! My fave place to go at Xmas time.” The preview evening took place on September 28, which is also when the Christmas shops at Lacock and Whitchurch officially opened.

The team at Whitehall have confirmed that each location differs somewhat when it comes to the Christmas displays, meaning you can take a trip to both this festive season, if you fancied it.

Posting a video to Instagram after their visit, one shopper said: “Walking into a winter wonderland at Whitehall Garden Centre. The festive spirit is in full swing, from twinkling lights to beautifully decorated trees. There’s magic in every corner! If you’re looking for Christmas vibes, this is the place to be!”

Whitchurch Whitehall Centre boasts The Orangery restaurant, where last year the team were serving up festive food, including brie and cranberry paninis, and even a turkey roast. You can plan your visit here.
