Shamrock Rovers and Derry City lead the way with three players each named in the 2024 PFA Ireland Men’s Premier Division Team of the Year.

The champions’ top scorer Johnny Kenny, midfielder Dylan Watts and defender Josh Honohan have all earned a place in this season’s Team of the Year, as voted by the players having been announced this morning.

Current league top scorer Pat Hoban also makes the 11, alongside teammates Michael Duffy and Mark Connolly, while there are two places for current leaders Shelbourne with captain Mark Coyle and defender Paddy Barrett included.

Elsewhere, Galway United goalkeeper Brendan Clarke gets the nod, with St Patrick’s Athletic captain Joe Redmond also earning his place.

Waterford striker Pádraig Amond makes up the Team of the Year, with the 36-year-old also in the running for this season’s Golden Boot with 13 league goals to date, one behind Hoban with two games remaining in the campaign.

The PFA Ireland Women’s Premier Division Team of the Year has also been confirmed, with two places for league winners Athlone Town and four for FAI Cup champions Shelbourne.

Madie Gibson and Jesi Rossman are included for the Midlanders, who lifted their first league title under Ciarán Kilduff this month, before departing his role as manager in the wake of their FAI Cup final defeat to Shels on Sunday.

The Reds have captain Pearl Slattery, Noelle Murray, Alex Kavanagh and Keeva Keenan in the 11. Galway United forward and Ireland international Julie-Ann Russell also gets the nod.

The individual awards will be announced at the PFA Ireland end of season awards ceremony on November 23.
