US singing legend Lionel Ritchie will kick off his upcoming European tour next year in Belfast as he confirmed he will be returning to the city.

The artist behind the likes of ‘Hello’, ‘All Night Long’, ‘Say You Say Me’, ‘We Are The World’ and ‘Easy’ – will kick off the tour at the SSE Arena in Belfast on 31 May, before visiting 16 countries and playing a total of 27 shows.

The Alabama star will also hit the stage in Dublin, lighting up the 3Arena on Sunday 1 June.

The ‘Say Hello To The Hits’ tour will see a new production, never seen before in the UK & Europe.

Richie has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, four Grammy Awards, was named the MusicCares Person of the Year in 2016, a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2017 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Class.

In March 2018, Richie put his handprints and footprints in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood, one of the oldest awards in Hollywood.

He has also sold over 125 million records worldwide.

The singer is well known for his showmanship on stage, with his headline performance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2015 drawing the festival’s largest crowd of the year,

Tickets for Richie’s concert will go on public sale at 10am on Friday 25 October.
