Liverpool continued their brilliant start to life under Arne Slot with a big 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah put the hosts ahead in the 29th minute, with the Egypt international converting after a foul by Levi Colwill.
Nicolas Jackson levelled for the visitors just three minutes after the restart, with the former Villarreal star’s powerful low drive too much for Caoimhin Kelleher.
But Curtis Jones bagged the winner, with the 23-year-old finishing neatly in the second half after more good work from Salah. GB News now takes a look at four things we learned from the game.
Salah is inevitable

Chelsea have let a few top players go over the years. Salah might just be the one they regret the most, however.
Even as the 32-year-old approaches the twilight years of his career, he remains a class act. The Egypt international was a constant threat throughout the fixture, with Chelsea failing to keep him quiet.
He was involved in both goals – scoring the first – and has now netted eight times against Chelsea over the years.
Salah’s penalties have sometimes failed to come off but he took his effort well and, if he continues like this, Slot may just win the league at the first time of asking.
Jackson doesn’t deserve the mocking

When it comes to the most-mocked players in the Premier League, Jackson is right up there.
Yet though Chelsea were forced to leave Anfield with nothing to their name, the Colombian deserves big credit for his performances this term.
Jackson has looked dangerous, far more than he did so upon first arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window of 2023. He took his goal well, timing his run superbly before finishing with aplomb.
The former Villarreal star is keeping pace with some of the league’s best and has gone from laughing stock to being one of the first names on Enzo Maresca’s teamsheet.
Given how many attacking players Chelsea have, that’s no small feat.
Jones has evolved under Slot

Jones has, for a long while, been forced to be the bridesmaid at Liverpool – but never the bride.
The English youngster is quickly becoming a key player for Slot, however, and was the best player on the pitch at Anfield as Liverpool secured a crucial win.
Jones’ goal was impressive, with the youngster showing good technique to prod past Robert Sanchez after a nice pass from Salah.
Having narrowly missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024, an international debut surely beckons.

Slot can win this title
It may be early, but why can’t Liverpool win the title this term?
Many expected Slot to struggle after his appointment back in the summer. After all, replacing Jurgen Klopp is certainly a daunting task.
But Liverpool look brilliant. They are solid at the back and threatening up top, while their midfielders can do it all.
With victories over Chelsea and Manchester United already, Slot’s tenure couldn’t have started any better. Whether they’re still top of the table come May remains to be seen.
