Woman ‘raped in children’s playground’ after being approached by four men – Police investigation launched

Kent Police said the victim was initially approached by four unknown men.

After three of them left, the remaining man reportedly assaulted her.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the alleged attack.

They are carrying out forensic analysis at the scene and checking CCTV footage.

The suspect is described as a young eastern European man, aged between 18-20.

The suspect is reported to have tight black curly hair covering his ears.

He was wearing a white tracksuit top and bottoms, with a small white bag around his waist.

Two of the other men in the group were described as white and of similar age to the suspect.

The fourth man was said to have darker skin and was wearing a green fleece and black trousers.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Motorists with dashcam footage, as well as residents and businesses with doorbell cameras or CCTV near the area, are asked to check for any relevant recordings.

Detective Chief Inspector John Smith of Kent Police said: “We are pursuing several lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“We urge anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact us immediately.”

Police have increased patrols in the vicinity of Toddler’s Cove playground to reassure the community.
