Strictly Come Dancing’s Pete Wicks has opened up about what he finds attractive in women, beyond their physical appearance. This comes amidst ongoing rumours about the TOWIE star’s love life.
Despite being frequently linked to high-profile women, Pete recently confirmed that he is currently single and not ready to settle down. In his book, Never Enough, the 36 year old discusses his views on dating.
He shares how his mother’s experience of giving up work to marry his father shaped his beliefs about gender roles. However, after his parents’ split and witnessing his mother’s struggle, Pete realised that he didn’t want the same dynamic in his relationships.
He wrote: “I think ambition is one of the sexiest qualities in a woman, but it was something that had made its way into my head.”
He also admitted: “I still always pay for everything when I take women on dates, even if they’re much more successful than me.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
He added: “It’s not about wanting to have the upper hand, it’s just about feeling like I can provide something.”
Pete’s past relationships include Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and Chloe Sims. More recently, he has been linked to Love Island’s Maura Higgins and his Strictly partner Jowita Przystał, but he has confirmed that he is not currently dating anyone.
After speculation surrounding an apparent kiss with Jowita during their American Smooth performance on the show, he addressed the issue on the Staying Relevant podcast, which he co-hosts with Sam Thompson. “They called it a passionate kiss, it’s the choreography, and we didn’t,” he explained.
Discussing how the public views him after his long stint on TOWIE, he said: “I had this bad boy persona, and that’s my fault, but the person I am now is different to the person I was 11 years ago, and the person I am now is different to the person I will be in 11 years.”
