Josh Griffiths – 6

Bristol Rovers’ best player of those who started which tells you how most of the game played out. Made a hatful of saves, a few of which outstanding, in defeat.

Taylor Moore – 6

Prior to the goals, the centre-back was looking particularly solid with one great moment where he got a toe on the ball ahead of striker Bojan Radulovic. However, three goals conceded is never a good day for a defender.

James Wilson – 6

A very busy afternoon for the centre-back. Seemingly should have had a penalty in the second half.

Clinton Mola – 6

Another who had a busy afternoon but is evidently capable of better. Attempted a few decent balls down the line but they rarely proved effective.

Jack Hunt (off for Lino Sousa 55′) – 5

Extremely busy in the first half and made some important clearances but certainly capable of much more. Subject to a few jeers and boos from home fans having previously played in these parts.

Bryant Bilongo (off for Shaq Forde 60′) – 6

Was winning a number of his duels and challenges in the first 20 minutes before Huddersfield cranked up the pressure and scored their three goals. Still, one of the better individual performers in a poor team performance.

Kamil Conteh – 5

Poor day for the midfield in particular with next to no connectivity with the forward line until the Gas were 3-0 down. Just didn’t take control of the ball.

Jamie Lindsay (Jake Garrett 75′) – 5

Booked early in the game and didn’t replicate the control he’s had in recent matches, admittedly against a stronger team.

Grant Ward (off for Isaac Hutchinson 60′) – 5

The midfielder’s dynamism and running ability was crucial if they were to get something from the game but with Rovers having very little of the ball, he couldn’t demonstrate that to his full capabilities and was largely called on to defend as opposed to drive the ball up the pitch.

Scott Sinclair (off for Ruel Sotiriou 55′) – 6

Arguably unlucky to be taken off early in the second half having been the brightest attacker for Rovers in the first, although that’s not saying much as Huddersfield dominated.

Promise Omochere – 5

Had next to no service and was guilty of a few giveaways. Bright moment early on where he won the ball high and played it out to Sinclair but couldn’t replicate that moment.

Substitutes:

Lino Sousa (on 55′) – 6

Lively down the right but has to score the one-v-one opportunity. That would have made the scoreline 3-2 and we would have had a very similar situation to the Peterborough game.

Ruel Sotiriou (on 55′) – 6

Added a bit more spark to Rovers’ attacking exploits. Also picked up a completely unnecessary yellow card.

Shaq Forde (on 60′) – 7

Unlucky not to start. Made a notable impact from the bench getting the assist for Hutchinson’s goal.

Isaac Hutchinson (on 60′) – 8

Delighted for the midfielder who evidently released a great deal of emotion when he scored after a tough start to life with the Gas. Good finish and impact from the bench.

Jake Garrett (on 75′) – N/A

Came on with the game seemingly over.
