Strictly Come Dancing’s Sam Quek had a close call with a wardrobe malfunction on It Takes Two, confessing her dress was a tad too short.

While sitting next to dance partner Nikita Kuzmin, Sam donned a light pink sequined off-the-shoulder dress, which she kept adjusting during her chat with host Janette Manrara.

Sam confessed: “I’d get up and give you a hug, but this dress is very tight and short.”

Janette disagreed, commenting: “No, no, but it is a beautiful dress for your birthday show.”

Sam responded: “It is a tad short. Isn’t it a bit much for 6.45pm? ” Janette explained that on It Takes Two, “we love the sparkle” before shifting focus to Nikita, who had experienced a fake tan mishap, according to the Mirror.

Janette highlighted Nikita’s tan, remarking: “We also love a good tan. Nikita, clearly, you seem to love coming on the show right after you’ve got it.”

Nikita defended himself, chuckling as he clarified: “This year, when I’m tanning or talking or singing, especially, I don’t get it right.”

Sam teased that her dance partner looked like “he had a filter on” before Janette moved on to discuss this week’s Strictly.

When questioned about how she conquered her fear of letting “sexy Sam out,” the TV presenter revealed Nikita gave her a “pep talk on Thursday,” and they created an alter ego for Sam.

She chuckled: “Just to embrace the curves and touch your body, I just don’t touch my body.”

When asked about his approach to encouraging Sam to step out of her comfort zone in practice sessions, Nikita shared, “I think we just talk.”

He expanded on their dynamic, saying: “Both of us were quite straightforward with our attitude and how we trust each other. So I’m just able to talk to Sam the way I would talk to a friend. Just listen, ‘this is the way it is,’ and she tells me, ‘Okay, this is the way I feel,’ and we just communicate.”

Sam chimed in with a laugh, highlighting their efficient rapport: “We are straight,” and added: “We don’t waste time because, again, we trust each other completely, and we have a good laugh.”

Expressing her confidence in the partnership, Sam stated: “I feel full confidence from Nikita when he’s advising me on how to be because I trust him.”

The pair are gearing up for Saturday night, where Nikita and Sam will perform the Quick Step to Natasha Bedingfield’s hit song Unwritten.

Strictly It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
