Tottenham have issued a stern warning to fans regarding homophobic chants, emphasising their zero-tolerance approach to discriminatory behaviour.

The club has specifically addressed a chant referencing Dominic Solanke and Mikel Arteta, which contains unacceptable slurs.

In an email sent to season-ticket holders ahead of their fixture against West Ham, Spurs reiterated their commitment to taking “the strongest possible action” against individuals involved in such chanting.

The club’s proactive stance comes in the wake of incidents reported during their recent away match at Old Trafford.

The email to season-ticket holders outlined specific measures to combat discriminatory behaviour.

“Our stewards will once again be wearing body cams to identify any individuals involved in unacceptable chanting,” the club stated.

The club emphasised that the Crown Prosecution Service considers such language a homophobic slur and hate crime.

This communication demonstrates Spurs’ commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all fans, while also serving as a clear warning about the consequences of engaging in discriminatory behaviour.

After that match, the club released a statement condemning the “abhorrent homophobic chanting” from sections of their away support.

Spurs vowed to work closely with police and stewards to identify those responsible, promising “the strongest possible action” in accordance with their Sanctions and Banning Policy.
