NI traffic alerts: Crash on Belfast motorway causing delays

The Bloomfield Road in Bangor, which was closed to traffic in both directions due to a road traffic collision, has since reopened.
Diversions had been in place this afternoon at Gransha Road, Sunningdale Road and Bloomfield Road South. 

Update: The lanes referenced below have now reopened and traffic returned to normal.

There is an emergency double lane closure on Garmoyle Street on Monday morning due to a collapsed manhole.
There are resulting delays for citybound traffic along Whitla Street and Duncrue Street. 

Emergency services are at the scene of the multi-vehicle incident on the M5.
Tailbacks are forming in the area.

The M5 in north Belfast is closed between Greencastle and Rushpark following a six-vehicle road traffic collision.
The M2 north-bound remains open.
Emergency services are attending the incident and road users are advised to seek an alternative route.

In east Belfast, the A2 Sydenham Bypass is closed for road works from Tillysburn Junction to Dee Street and is down to one lane from Victoria Park to past Belfast City Airport.
Delays are expected and road users are asked to plan their journey and leave extra time.
The closure is in place over the weekend until 6am on Monday as part of the planned schedule.

Earlier road traffic on the M2 Nelson Street off slip has been cleared and the road reopened. Traffic is quickly returning to normal. 

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Road users are advised the Nelson Street off-slip of the M2 Belfast is currently closed following a two vehicle collision this afternoon. Please seek alternate routes for your journey.”

Earlier road traffic collision on the M3 Lagan Bridge has now been cleared and all lanes reopened.

The Montgomery Road in east Belfast has been closed as the air ambulance attends an incident. Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.

Motorists have been advised that the M3 – which connects the M2 with the Sydenham Bypass – has been closed M2-bound after a crash.

Police are at the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision at the Fortwilliam Roundabout in north Belfast. The off-slip has been closed to country-bound traffic and drivers are asked to use alternative routes.

Reports of long delays on A23 Ballygowan Road from Roselawn Cemetery towards Ryan Park. A broken down car in the area is causing the delays in Castlereagh.

A three vehicle crash on the outer lane A2 Sydenham bypass citybound – close to the footbridge to Belfast City Airport – is causing delays.

Motorists have been warned of potential delays in Ballyhackamore this morning amid reports of a collision on the Upper Newtownards Road heading into the city near North Road.

UPDATE: The below incident has now been cleared, although knock-on delays remain back to Big Barn leaving Bangor.

A crash is causing delays in north Down heading towards Belfast. The collision occurred on the A2 Belfast Road around Ballymenoch Park in Holywood, causing knock on delays back to Seahill. The road is down to one lane as police attend the incident.

A vehicle fire has caused the closure of the M1-bound Clifton Street on-slip on the Westlink.
