Pillsbury fans aren’t exactly bursting with Christmas cheer after seeing the brand’s new holiday-themed cookie.

The Grinch is synonymous with Christmas but Pillsbury’s Christmas-inspired treat had eaters seeing red, not green, because they believe the curmudgeonly character deserves better.

The cookies were unveiled in an Instagram post by food blogger @Snackolator, but the design has left fans confused.

The new cookie features three red hearts, referencing how the Grinch’s heart grew “three sizes” in an infamous line from the book and movies.

But it was the green blob alongside the hearts that left people puzzled.

While one commenter noted it resembled paw prints, most fans were left with one image: a green turd.

“Cute concept but doesn’t look like the grinch, looks like green poop,” one person wrote.

A second person agreed: “I’m so sorry but the grinch head on the cookie looks like poop from a butt.”

A third user added: “Green Grinch poop.”

The cookies are part of Pillsbury’s holiday lineup, which feature different shapes, depending on the time of year.

A user noted, “This made me think they were doing a Valentine theme cookie featuring the Grinch.”

However, one user laughed at Snackolator likening it to a Christmas tree, remarking, “I don’t think it’s a tree, it’s the Grinch lol.”

According to Pillsbury U.S. website, the holiday cookie’s description reads: “Inspired by Dr. Seuss and the whimsical world of Whoville, this Pillsbury Shape Sugar Cookie Dough brings The Grinch to holiday baking,” adding that there’s a “bonus tree ornament activity on the box.”
