Gogglebox favourite Pete Sandiford has given fans a glimpse into his home life with wife Paige, revealing she’s been ‘doing his head in’ with party planning questions. The Blackpool-based roofer couldn’t help but share his frustrations with sister Sophie during the hit Channel 4 programme.

Viewers were treated to a hilarious insight as Pete vented about the preparations for their daughter Eva’s birthday party.

Pete expressed to Sophie that Paige’s constant questioning about the event details was getting too much. He recounted to his sister: “Paige has been doing my head in.”

He mimicked his wife’s persistence: “You know [daughter] Eva’s birthday party? Have you rung about the hot pot? Have you rung about the hot pot? ” Pete then shared an anecdote from work, saying, “I was in a meeting at work the other day and she rung me four times. Guess what about? “.

With his trademark humour, he added: “Honestly, I said, why are we not just having sandwiches? Do I look like I am Jeff Bezos? “, reports Lancs Live.

The couple, who married in 2021 and had their son Jimmy that year, announced they were expecting again on Gogglebox in December 2022. In June 2023, they introduced their baby girl to viewers.

Holding his daughter, Pete told Sophie her full name: “Sophie, did I tell you Eva’s full name? She’s going to be Eva Sylvie Sandiford.”

To which his sister warmly replied: “I love it.”

Pete and Sophie have become beloved staples on Gogglebox since their debut in 2017, seamlessly integrating into our Friday evenings with their charm and wit. Throughout the years, they’ve witnessed significant personal milestones; Sophie has pursued a new career as a florist, while Pete has walked down the aisle and welcomed a child.

Despite their popularity on the show, it was reported over the weekend that Pete is unable to leave his day job as a roofer, even with the fame from TV. According to The Sun, the monthly fee of £1,500 from the show isn’t sufficient for the father to support himself.

At an awards event, Pete shared with the outlet: “We just saw Eammon Holmes. I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday.”

When questioned about quitting his day job, he responded: “I have got to pay my mortgage somehow.”

It seems Gogglebox might be the only television venture for Pete, as he expressed disinterest in expanding his TV appearances, stating: “No, nothing beats sitting on the sofa.”
