“It’s incredibly frightening”: Queen’s University young women’s walking group on Mary Ward murder

Queen’s University Belfast’s ‘Walkie Talkie Girlies’ society was founded in November 2023 to spread awareness on violence against women and girls. The group, which now has over 400 members, hosts group walking session every week. Following the murder of 22 year-old Mary Ward in nearby Melrose Street, Chairperson Aisling Connor says that more women are joining the group.
