Award-winning Bristol bakery Pinkmans is launching a crowdfunder to help open a brand new cafe in Stokes Croft. The popular bakery site on Park Street was destroyed in a fire back in June 2023 and the team are determined to open a new cafe for Bristolians to enjoy as soon as possible.

In a post to its Instagram page on Sunday (October 13) the team at Pinkmans said: “We need your help! To our amazing Bristol community and beyond—since 2015, Pinkmans has been proudly baking your favourite sourdoughnuts, focaccia sandwiches, croissants with love and dedication. Our little bakery has grown with your support, and we’ve had the joy of sharing our creations with you, earning accolades and bringing smiles along the way.

“However, in June 2023, disaster struck. A devastating fire left our beloved Park Street home in ashes, and our hearts shattered. Our bakery, equipment and space were lost, with no insurance payout to help us rebuild. But the incredible support from our community gave us hope.

“Thanks to generous friends and partners, we’ve been able to keep Pinkmans alive, baking once again and serving you from our smaller café on Whiteladies Road. We want to dream big again!

“We have an exciting chance to open a brand new Pinkmans Cafe in Stokes Croft, but we need your help to make it happen. We’re asking for your support to raise £20,000 to take this next step in our journey, create a new home for the Pinkmans family and to be part of this vibrant community.

“We’ve created some special rewards with love from us and our incredible friends in Bristol’s indie food scene. By contributing, you’ll help bring this dream to life, and you’ll get some delicious treats in return from Pinkmans and our talented partners! All of our rewards are almost or equal to the face value of what you are paying, whether that is a coffee and a sourdoughnut, a workshop or a Christmas hamper.

“Thank you for standing by us through thick and thin. We can’t wait to serve you all again…stronger, better and full of sourdoughnuts!”

Since the fire devastated the cafe on Park Street, Pinkmans has undertaken many a collaboration and pop-up venture, working with the likes of Anna Cake Couture to create delicious bakes – recently it was announced that Bristol Cathedral would be teaming up with the bakery for its reopened cafe.
