Brits taking part in McDonald’s Monopoly have just days left to finish their sets and redeem their prizes while a host of other items fall off the menu at the same time.

McDonald’s Monopoly will be ending in the coming days after a sensational six-week run that has seen countless Brits flocking to the fast food restaurant in the hopes of winning big. The annual competition will be closing this year at 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 16.

People who have won prizes don’t need to rush for this deadline though as they have until October 29 to redeem their winnings. The game draws a lot of potential fans because of the various ways they stand a chance at potentially winning big.

The Collect to Win is the most popular way to tackle the competition but collecting property sets in the hopes of winning bigger prizes than the individual tokens offer. However, this is deliberately difficult to do as some pieces are far more rare than others.

For example, anyone trying to collect the dark blue or green property sets likely had a tremendously arduous time trying as Mayfair was the rarest piece this year with just 5 being made while only 21 Regent Street pieces were released. Brits that were lucky enough to find these rare pieces are likely looking at a £100,000 prize for the dark blue set and a MINI electric car with all three green properties.

The way you claim Collect To Win prizes differ depending on what the prize actually is. For non-food prizes such as cash, holidays or audio bundles, you will need to submit your claim via the McDonald’s app before the deadline. You may also be required to sign certain documents or send your game pieces to a redemption centre by November 5th in order to verify your prize claim.

Details for how to do this will be sent to you if required. For food prizes, you can also claim this via the app and find your food prizes automatically added to offers in your account.

A number of instant prizes were also on offer throughout the game, which can be revealed by peeling the sticker on your Monopoly pieces. These included:

  • £2,000 Jet2holiday
  • Merlin Annual Pass
  • £1,000 Cash
  • JBL Audio Bundle
  • JYSK £500 Homeware Spend
  • Pair of Cinema Tickets
  • McDonald’s Exclusive Merchandise
  • 10% off Train Tickets with TrainPal Group among many more.

For instant win non-food prizes, you can claim your prize on the app by heading into the My Wallet page and tapping on Prizes until October 29t which will take you through to further instructions if necessary. For food prizes, these will be automatically added to the Offers section of your app and you can claim these at the counter or drive thru the next time you’re at McDonald’s.

Playing online also offered some different prizes, from cash amounts up to £100,000 to a TV and soundbar, £200 train credit or a McDonald’s Gold Card. Unfortunately, the Monopoly game isn’t the only thing leaving McDonald’s this autumn.

Six items are also leaving the menu on Wednesday such as the limited edition Mozzarella Dippers, Chicken Big Mac and the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry and the long-awaited return of the Philly Cheese Stack has come to a quick end. McDonald’s collaboration with Twix will also be ending as the Twix Caramel McFlurry and Twix Latte are heading out of stores too.
