A new Chinese restaurant and dim dum parlour is set to open on Bristol’s Gloucester Road. Uncle Wah already boasts a venue on Bedminster’s North Street, which opened this summer.

And now signage at an address on Gloucester Road states that their second site will be “coming soon”. Situated near The Grace pub and the British Heart Foundation shop, photos taken by BristolLive, show the Uncle Wah branding in the window of what was formerly natural wine shop and wine bar Native Vine.

The property at number 193 Gloucester Road, has already had a paint job, transforming the front with a lighter sage green, compared to the darker colour of the former property owner.

At time of writing, Uncle Wah has not announced the opening date of the new restaurant. BristolLive has contacted the team to find out more.

It opened its first eatery in Bedminster back on July 12, giving out free dim sum baskets for its first 100 customers. On its Instagram page, Uncle Wah regularly shares images and reels showcasing the food on the menu – from bao buns to classics like katsu chicken, pork ribs, noodles and more.

Those lucky enough to have already sampled the North Street offering describe the food as being “so good”, “tasty” and “absolutely incredible”. The team describe Uncle Wah as being “a new dim sum restaurant serving authentic Asian cuisine in Bristol”.

They add: “The menu is a celebration of authentic dim sum” and say that other favourite menu items from customers so far include the likes of rainbow vegetable dumplings, turnip cake, prawn bao buns, crispy tofu, mixed seafood tom yum and black and gold lava bao buns.
