Toronto Police have made an arrest in an indignity to a human body investigation.

On May 27, police were called to a Broadview Ave.-Dundas St. area apartment and located a dead body.

An autopsy found the death was from natural causes.

Police said a male suspect allegedly knew of the body, but didn’t report it to the police.

During the investigation, police determined that the suspect was also allegedly wanted on a nationwide warrant for breaching his long-term supervision order resulting from a three-year sentence for forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon and use of an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.

Rejean Hermel, 52, of no fixed address, was arrested on Sunday and charged with obstructing a peace officer, improper/indecent interference with a dead body, assault, sexual assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
